Family Comes First at Beautiful Farm at Dover Wedding

Family almost always play key roles in any wedding.

For Amanda and Austin’s beautiful July wedding at The Farm at Dover, which the couple selected because of its gorgeous gardens and the beauty of the barn, that certainly was the case.

We’ll start with Austin’s dad, Ron, who had the courage to preside over the ceremony as the officiant, having been ordained online. He centered the ceremony around Mathew 19:5:

This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.

When Ron pronounced the couple “Mr. and Mrs. Austin Pett,” you could hear pride in every word as he spoke it.

Family Part II

Then the family participation came next with two of the other leading ladies of the day: Amanda’s mom, Jackie, and Austin’s mom, Deb. Both of these charming women gave richly detailed toasts that gave insights into the lives of the bride and groom, and why their relationship was destined to be forged in marriage.

In addition to her welcome speech, Jackie also planned an incredible surprise for her daughter, who she escorted down the aisle because her husband and Amanda’s father, Kevin, had passed. After the cake cutting and formal dances, Jackie’s father took to the microphone and introduced a special presentation, saying that he knew somewhere in this magical place that Kevin was looking down at everything and saying to him: Don’t mess it up!

So, a  projector screen was ushered in as if by magic, but really through the thoughtful planning of Timeless Events and Van Rixel Productions.

Amanda was asked to join her brother, Alex, on the dance floor. A video began to play. And what a video it was.

A colleague of Jackie’s had compiled dozens of photos and video of Amanda and her father from the time she was a baby to young lady. Amanda and Alex — and everyone else in the room — watched the screen intently. Many with tears of appreciation and love streaming down their faces.

It was a moment to cherish and will play a big role in Amanda and Austin’s feature film to come.

Until then, enjoy this Sneak Peek, which focuses the joyous moments of the day, how these two giggled and hugged, how family helped them formally launch their marriage.

Cheers, Cindy
