WEDMKE: A wedding show we love!

Have you ever been to a wedding show?We have. Plenty of them. For people planning a wedding, they’re great, offering exposure to a variety of different vendors all in one place. Savvy couples can nail down a lot of details at a show,  as well as gather ideas from pros who keep atop the latest trends and services. So why aren’t we at every show in town? The simple truth is that our work doesn’t play well at these events, which tend to be extremely loud and congested. Attendees miss the emotional audio and music, which are integral to the storytelling of our films. And the last thing we want to do is blast more sound an attempt to catch someone’s attention, further adding to the roar. But when we heard about MKEWED at Turner Hall Ballroom, we were intrigued. The event was to showcase local and unique vendors. Hey, Sweet Pea fits that bill!We also know that couples who care about supporting local artisans (like us!) are exactly the kind of people we love to film.  They value the hard work, dedication and attention that goes into a handmade piece created specifically for them. We’re so glad we signed up. Here’s what we think attendees liked about the show:

  • Vendors that rock: We didn’t get a chance to meet every vendor at the event, but those we already know and the ones we did meet are excellent. Couples can have faith that they’re getting the best of MKE here. (See the full list here.)
  • Music that rocks: The live music was fantastic, and ranged from singer songwriters to rockin’ blues.
  • A venue that rocks: Turner Hall is quintessential Milwaukee, and seeing patrons walking around with Pabst Tall Boys, or blood Marys and mimosas reminded us of the last concert we went to there.

Why did we love WEDMKE, despite the raucus buzz?Because it drew exactly the kind of people we connect with: people who clearly want to see the best of local Milwaukee. And, they actually stopped by our booth, watched films and chatted about their plans and dreams. We love Milwaukee, local artisans, and restaurants, and businesses. And we’re glad we’ve found a wedding show that makes sense for us, too.Cheers,CindyVendors in this video:  Turner Hall Ballroom Weddings | Milwaukee Airwaves | Studio 29 Photography | Milwaukee Flower Company | Relics {Vintage Rentals} |  Coquie Paperie & Gifts | evenement | Jadon Good Photography | Bay View PrintingCaricatures & Comedy by Bill | Gigi’s Cupcakes of WauwatosaKyle Feerick |
